Help us learn from r00ts in the wild. It's live! Our browser extension traces your internet use to the actual data centres behind it, and the droughts, energy battles, and community resistance happening there - grounding "the cloud" in real places. Now that it's out, we want to see what it does out there: install it and draw out insights, help us run a playtest, think through next steps, and connect it with communities it could serve. Especially keen to hear from anyone running research, field trips, or workshops around data centres and the materiality of the internet who wants to put r00ts to use. Help us run the open call for our AI Pedagogies Cookbook. A community-sourced collection of critical and creative AI literacy exercises ("recipes") for educators, co-produced with the Netherlands Film Academy as part of AI Greenhouse. Two ways in: contribute a recipe of your own, or help us build the thing behind the scenes - reaching out to people whose teaching we'd love in it, choosing who to include, and working with contributors (and our Recipe Converter LLM tool) to write their exercises up.
