We are now inviting (micro-)contributions across all mediums for potential inclusion—whether it’s webwoven essays, spicy POVs, obscure thought experiments, visual provocations, or other niche ideas.

Your submission can be new or existing work engaging with the broader themes of Slow AI or relating specifically to the Esoteric, Ancestral, or Small AI threads.

We can’t wait to hear from you!

01_Context: Slow AI

The Slow AI project explores and invokes alternative AI narratives that challenge the mainstream hegemonies and imagine what else is possible.

Over the past six months, we’ve hosted zine-making workshops, collaborated with artists to create artworks, conducted research, and held live conversations—growing and evolving these ideas together as a community.

02_Open call: Submit your Works on Alternative Perspectives on AI

Because plurality and poly-vocality are core values of our work, we don’t want to stop at our research. Instead, we want to include many different voices and brains - platforming those working in this space and developing their ideas before, beyond, and alongside us.

That’s why we invite you to contribute your work, interpretations, ideas, and provocations related to Slow AI and Alternative Perspectives on AI.

Formats + Specs

• Your contribution doesn’t have to be new; previously published works are equally welcomed and valuable.
• We seek submissions that engage with the themes and questions of Slow AI. It might directly resonate with or respond to any of our ongoing research threads (Small AI, Esoteric AI, Ancestral AI), introduce new or build on related threads (e.g., Subversive AI, Indigenous AI, Girl AI, Anarchist AI, Antagonistic AI, etc), or expand on these framings. If it speaks to alternative perspectives on AI, we’d love to see it.
• We welcome micro-contributions from all disciplines and mediums - as long as they can be showcased within the downloadable report. To give examples of the wide range of work, it could be:
  • a one-page essay, a poem, a comic, a drawing, a diagram, a collage, time-based media, a painting, an activity page, a question, instructions for an exercise or ritual, a tutorial, a sculpture, a video, a testimonial, a sound experiment, ergodic literature, a science fiction or speculative scenario, games, audio walks, virtual worlds, site-specific, virtual, data storytelling, visual essays, experimental publishing, even social performances such as rituals, workshop formats, collective or individual meditations, and tech interventions, open-source tools, a UI for a code-heavy tool, hardware + software, or interactive website - or something that fits into neither or goes across these categories.
