The Liberation series is a collection of handtufted rugs by Nadia Piet, each drawing on an image of freedom from a different tradition.
Sri Yantra holds the union of consciousness and energy in sacred geometry. Yin Yang holds Taoist non-dualism and the play of opposites. Above the Clouds holds Zen sky-mind imagining thoughts as weather passing through. Spiral holds queer time and throughlines, the non-linear way things come back around rather than arriving. The Watermelon stands in solidarity with Palestine, and with all resistance to oppression across time and space.
The premise underneath: liberation is a longing reached toward in many shapes, inward and outward, and nobody's free until we're all free.

Nadia Piet handtufts fluffy rugs under the name BODABODE from her studio at the NDSM warehouse, counterbalancing screentime with embodied, tactile making. Her work draws on spiritual traditions, a soft spot for soft edges and natural forms, and a firm belief in color maximalism to brighten our everyday. Each piece starts from a symbol, shape, or palette that pulls her in, and slowly takes shape over multiple sessions at the frame.
The rest of her week, she works as an independent researcher, designer, and organizer at the intersections of technology and culture. She is co-founder and creative director of AIxDESIGN, a global community and decentralized lab for critical, creative, and communal approaches to AI, alongside roles as researcher-in-residence at the Netherlands Film Academy, faculty at ELISAVA Barcelona's MA in Design for Responsible AI, and teaching yoga.
